The second "After Tour Criterium" at Diksmuide had gathered a large audience.

The race was animated by the long attack by five men, including Leif Hoste (Discovery Channel) and World champion Tom Boonen (Quick.Step-Innergetic).

Our team did not let them do, and they were caught about halfway. Other attacks, some by Nico Mattan, Bert Roesems or Mario Aerts, had no result, until the duo Robbie McEwen and Tom Boonen left the peloton.

They sprinted for the bouquet, which Robbie lost to the World champion. Gert Steegmans came in 5th, and Nico Mattan 9th.
